Grant of $6,000 will extend efforts to save more animal lives in McMinnville and Yamhill County
McMinnville, Oregon, March 6, 2018. The Homeward Bound Pets Spay/Neuter Clinic in McMinnville, Oregon, today announced it has been awarded a $6,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support its new Spay/Neuter Clinic located on 7 th Street in McMinnville.
Homeward Bound Pets has operated a low-cost spay/neuter transport program for cats since 2011, which has been funded by annual Petco Foundation grants and donations from Yamhill County citizens and many of its cities and towns. In 2017 we opened the Homeward Bound Pets Spay/Neuter Clinic in McMinnville, which means we no longer have to transport cats out of the area to be spayed and neutered and can also offer spay/neuter services to dogs as well as cats.
The Petco Foundation investment will help us provide low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for Yamhill County’s low-income residents who own cats or dogs, or who care for stray or feral cats, including homeless individuals and their companion animals. Additional services include vaccinations, microchips, and flea/parasite control products for cats and dogs. Financial help is available to qualified individuals on government assistance who reside in Yamhill County and the West Valley area.
“Homeward Bound Pets is honored to be able to provide all Yamhill County Citizens access to low cost spay/neuter services. Our new clinic in McMinnville will help reduce pet overpopulation and save lives,” said Executive Director, Ronnie Vostinak.
