OPERATIONAL AND SAFETY UPDATE
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Homeward Bound Pets is experiencing an average monthly income loss of $49,700 from closing the Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic and Thrift Shop. On-line sales have dropped significantly as well as bottle recycling, shelter adoptions, and surrender fees and donations.

•If you live in Yamhill County and would like to open your home to foster animals in need, please contact our Foster Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org, or leave a message at 503-472-0341 ext. 7.
•The thrift shop is closed for shopping and donations; however, our online stores are open and shipping. Please visit us at the below websites:
SHELTER INFORMATION: Our small shelter staff is working diligently to care for the animals and maintain a safe and clean environment for all, with operations changing day to day.
PLEASE NOTE: The shelter staff is working diligently to address your concerns in a timely manner. Your patience is requested, and all voicemails will be returned within 72 hours.
Call volumes are extremely high during this time with many questions from the public about adoptions, surrenders, donations, and fostering.
If you have a question for the shelter staff, please do not send emails or social media messages, as bandwidth is very limited. The Shelter, Foster Coordinator, and Shelter Manager phone lines all reach the same location; leaving several messages on all three lines will only delay our response time.
Dog adoptions and owner surrenders are by appointment only on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. Please call 503-472-0341 ext 1 and leave a message; a staff member will return your call within 72 hours. Please do not call multiple times or extensions or send emails/social media messages; this will only delay their response time. Cat adoptions have been suspended at this time.
If you plan on adopting, please first make an appointment and *do not visit the shelter if you are sick*. Please do not show up at the gate unannounced as our staff is working very hard to provide care and service during this difficult time.
1)Debit or credit cards are the only method of payment accepted at this time
2)All dog meet and greets will be done outside
3)Please bring all dogs in your household with you
4)Bring proof of home ownership, or if you rent, a letter from your landlord indicating they allow dogs is required
5)We cannot put dogs on hold
6)Staff will wear gloves and use only plastic clipboards to improve sanitizing efforts
SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC INFORMATION: If your pet has an appointment at the spay/neuter clinic, Dr. Jennifer Choate and volunteers will be calling a week in advance to provide updates.
THRIFT SHOP INFORMATION: Thrift Shop donations and in-store shopping are suspended with only online stores open; please shop in our online stores.
“We simply cannot do this work without the help of our amazing community; the animals need us to be their collective voice”, said Executive Director Ronnie Vostinak. We are preparing for an influx of animals being surrendered by families who can no longer care of them. HBPets is reaching out to our community and asking for monetary donations and foster families. Our goal is to help keep pets with their families.”
Thank you for your continued support,
The HBPets Team
