Q: What do I need to know before I visit the shelter?
- **If you plan to adopt, please arrive 45 minutes prior to closing**
- The public is not allowed into our kennels. We have pictures of our dogs in the office and on our website. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we will bring them to you.
- We do not have a public restroom any longer due to it being our intake/cat hold. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
- In order to keep our shelter grounds clean and safe, we cannot allow any use of tobacco, marijuana products, vaping or chewing on site (includes parking lots).
Q: How do I get to the shelter?
Our shelter is located just off of Highway #18 at 10601 SE Loop Road, McMinnville, OR about 1/2 mile east of the McMinnville Airport and Evergreen Aviation Museum. The shelter consists of 3 small red buildings and a barn with a chain-link fence around it.

Kittens (Up to 6 Months) – $125-$200
Youth (6 Months to 2 Years) – $100-$150
Adults (3-8 Years) – $75-$100
Seniors (8+ Years/Special Needs) – $55-$75
Puppies (Up to 6 months) – $400-$600

Q: How long does the adoption process take?
A: The process takes about 30 minutes after you have picked an animal to adopt.
Q: What is involved in the adoption process?
A: We have an adoption application that you will fill out. If you are a renter we will need to call your landlord to get approval. If you can bring approval from your landlord that will speed up the process some.
Q: What do I need to bring along?
A: If you are a renter and can bring landlord approval that will help speed up the adoption process. If adopting a cat and you have a carrier, bring it along to transport your new family member home safely. If you do not have one, we sell reusable cardboard carriers for $5.00. You will need to bring any other dogs in your home to meet the dog you are considering for adoption to ensure they will get along. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard and Discover as forms of payment.
Q: What are my options if the cat or dog is not a good fit in my home?
A: If your newly adopted cat or dog is having trouble adjusting, please give the shelter a call at 503-472-0341 . We have many suggestions to help your new family member feel at home.
