Today is a very special day. Homeward Bound Pets was founded by Julie Julson in 1975 as Oregon’s first no-kill shelter. We are so grateful for the support that we have received over the years in helping us continue to bring her vision to life.
We are so proud of the many ways our organization has grown! In 2019, our dedicated team of animal shelter staff and volunteers cared for 958 animals who came to us as a result of being found as a stray, abandoned, or surrendered. Our thrift shop is open 7 days a week with all proceeds supporting the life-saving work we do for animals, and the Spay/Neuter Clinic just reached the 5,000 surgery mark!
If you would like to help us continue to do our life-saving work, please consider becoming a monthly donor by joining our Loyal Companions program on our website here: www.hbpets.org/loyacompanions.
Homeward Bound Pets is in need of foster families for puppies. Do you have room in your heart and home? We provide everything you need to foster. All you need to offer is your home and love.
Foster families must reside within McMinnville, or no more than 15 minutes from our shelter, which is located at 10601 SE Loop Road (for emergency purposes). We hold monthly foster orientations.
For more information, contact the HBPets Foster Coordinator at 503-472-0341 ext. 7.
We are so happy to announce that Amanda Golden has joined the HBPets team as our Shelter Manager!
Amanda brings with her a wide variety of over 10 years of management, animal care, medical, and human resource experience. In addition, Amanda has held the Certified Veterinarian Assistant certification for 8 years.
For much of her career, Amanda worked in a high volume spay/neuter clinic and was very involved in all aspects of the clinic including assisting in 9,000 surgeries, client education, and animal care.
Amanda’s professional background paired with her upbeat personality make her a terrific addition to the organization.
Welcome to the HBPets team, Amanda!
